The mission of the Loaves and Fishes Fund of Ottawa Carleton is to establish and maintain free daily meal services to our disadvantaged, underprivileged and homeless neighbours living within our community.
The Loaves and Fishes Fund of Ottawa Carleton began back in August 1999 when founder and creator Patrick Butler set an objective to help the less fortunate and needy in his community. In order to accomplish his objective he created a charity comprised of distinguished business men who all shared in the hope to make even the smallest improvement in helping the less fortunate.
Since 1999 the charity has been involved in a number of projects from maintaining and operating a food bank, assisting individuals with special needs and in the past couple of years has shifted its focus to breakfast and lunch plans in several schools in the Ottawa area.
The Loaves and Fishes Fund along with its sponsors, has helped raised over $600,000. All of the proceeds generated by the funds revenues help assist in the battle of hunger for the less fortunate, and 100% of proceeds go to the Loaves and Fishes Fund.
With the help and support from our sponsors and the community our vision is to one day own and operate a full time soup kitchen.
